Our Initiatives

  • We fundraise, lobby, and provide support for underprivileged girls in schools, slums, and the streets, with a particular focus on personal hygiene and sanitation. Our menstrual health program involves:

    • distributing menstrual health products,

    • education on puberty, adolescence, and other health information,

    • early pregnancy prevention information,

    • improving UTI and STI awareness and prevention,

    • emotional support and counselling for pregnant teenagers and young mothers,

    • and distributing maternity products, e.g. essentials kits, baby clothing, and baby formula.

Overall, our menstrual health program improves girls’ and womens’ personal and health security by advocating for inclusivity, diversity, and accessible welfare. We believe that this form of advocacy is crucial in working towards social justice for all Ugandan women.

  • Through monthly member contributions, the help of volunteers, and lobbying, we provide educational support to underprivileged girls through payment of school fees, scholastic materials, breakfast and lunch payment at school. This crucial support allows girls to stay in school and continue their education. We also contribute to their homes by providing clothes, mattresses, and blankets, as many girls come from impoverished, vulnerable populations.

By educating and mentoring these girls, we empower them to improve their circumstances. We believe that education is the cornerstone of empowerment, so we provide quality education to girls from marginalized backgrounds to ensure that she has the tools to break the cycle of poverty and achieve her full potential.

  • To improve health and sustainability, we teach girls and women how to make reusable pads for their own benefit and the benefit of their communities. In addition, we facilitate training in:

    • tailoring and fashion

    • crafts making

    • metal work

    • music and creative development

    • hair and beauty training

    • cooking and baking

    • technology skills (e.g. computer skills)

    • and other vocational training.

By supporting the development of these various skills, girls and women are able to access employment more easily, and therefore improve their circumstances.

  • We work closely with local farmers and communities to improve sustainable agriculture practices. This allows community members to fight hunger, unstable food systems, environmental loss, unemployment, and inequality. In Uganda, many communities rely heavily on agriculture and subsistence farming to earn a living. Therefore, this work is very important, and involves:

    • Setting up demonstration farms to teach local farmers about sustainable agriculture practices, including the breeding of genetically improved animals and crops which can withstand environmental changes.

    • Giving out suitable animals and crops to women’s groups within communities to help improve their circumstances, e.g. goats, chickens, and cows.

    • Advocating civic duties of community members to improve environmental protection, community services, and resource conservation to protect the climate.

    • Providing disaster relief services to particularly challenged populations.

  • We engage with women in the local community to develop community initiatives, personal development programs, and mind set education. For example, establishing saving and lending groups amongst women in a village, or fighting poverty by helping people build regenerative farms, businesses, and markets which increase their income. We emphasise the importance of businesses moving beyond doing less harm, and shifting towards the active pursuit of doing good.
